Beginning Together, which was established in 1999, is designed to move inclusive experiences for young children with disabilities or other delays and their families from theory to practice. This is accomplished through a training-of-trainers institute, training of agency and county teams, webinars, technical assistance activities, and direct services. The staff providing the direct training and technical assistance through Beginning Together are uniquely qualified to accomplish these tasks based on their extensive knowledge and experience in special education and early intervention, their prior work as early intervention administrators and providers, and their deep knowledge of the child care and early education world.

Beginning Together is administered by WestEd and is sponsored by the California Department of Social Services, Child Care and Development Division.
