The following are the goals for the <span class=\"bt\">Beginning Together<\/span> Institute.<\/p>\n<p class=\"strong\">Through the <span class=\"bt\">Beginning Together<\/span> Institute, Participants Will:<\/p>\n\n<ul class=\"list-square\">\n \t<li>Increase their knowledge of current information, trends, and approaches to inclusive practice<\/li>\n \t<li>Be able to design and conduct training sessions based on the information presented in selected workshops<\/li>\n \t<li>Provide consultation to a program newly engaged in inclusion<\/li>\n \t<li>Expand and strengthen their knowledge of managing complex change and know how to facilitate meetings in their local area in order to support an increase in inclusive practice or inclusive opportunities<\/li>\n<\/ul><\/div><\/div><div class=\"x-div e113-e10 m35-4 m35-6\" id=\"requirements\"><div class=\"x-text x-text-headline e113-e11 m35-b\"><div class=\"x-text-content\"><div class=\"x-text-content-text\"><h2 class=\"x-text-content-text-primary\">Certification Requirements<\/h2>\n<\/div><\/div><\/div><div class=\"x-text x-content e113-e12 m35-c\"><ol class=\"list-custom \">\n \t<li style=\"list-style-type: none;\">\n<ol class=\"list-custom \">\n \t<li class=\"list-one\"><span class=\"strong\">Attend and Fully Participate<\/span> in all sessions of the Institute. <b>Enroll in the course and complete two activities: training (#2 below) and a facilitation activity (#3 below).<\/b><\/li>\n \t<li class=\"list-two\"><span class=\"strong\">Conduct One Training<\/span> based on one of the Training of Trainers sessions done during the Institute. The training should be at least 60 minute and may be up to 3 hours in length.<br \/>\n\n<ul class=\"list-columns strong\">\n \t<li>Setting the Stage for Inclusion<\/li>\n \t<li>Inclusion Works! Overview<\/li>\n \t<li>When Concerns Arise<\/li>\n \t<li>Building Blocks or Inclusive Group Care<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n \t<li class=\"list-three-a\"><span class=\"strong\">Provide Consultation<\/span> to a program to support successful inclusion<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n<p><strong>OR<\/strong><\/p>\n\n<ol class=\"list-custom \">\n \t<li class=\"list-three-b\"><span class=\"strong\">Facilitate One Meeting<\/span> on the topic of Inclusion using the outline provided.\n<ul>\n \t<li><span class=\"strong\">Program Level<\/span><br \/>\n\n<ul class=\"list-circle\">\n \t<li>This meeting would include teacher representatives, administrators, and relevant collaborators from one large site or several classrooms who are geographically or otherwise connected.<\/li>\n \t<li>The meeting would center on moving through the Agenda for Program Inclusion<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n \t<li><span class=\"strong\">Community or District Level<\/span><br \/>\n\n<ul class=\"list-circle\">\n \t<li>This meeting would include teacher representatives, administrators, and relevant collaborators from one large program (such as a school district or Head Start) or several smaller programs who are geographically or otherwise connected.<\/li>\n \t<li>The meeting would center on moving through the Agenda for Community Inclusion<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n \t<li class=\"list-four\"><span class=\"strong\">Submit a Certification Portfolio.<\/span> The portfolio will consist of documentation of the training event and facilitation event. Notify WestEd when your portfolio is complete.<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n<p class=\"strong text-center\">Activities &amp; Portfolio may be submitted at any time in the next 12 months.<\/p>\n<\/div><\/div><div class=\"x-div e113-e13 m35-4 m35-6\" id=\"documentation\"><div class=\"x-text x-text-headline e113-e14 m35-b\"><div class=\"x-text-content\"><div class=\"x-text-content-text\"><h2 class=\"x-text-content-text-primary\">Description of Documentation<\/h2>\n<\/div><\/div><\/div><div class=\"x-text x-content e113-e15 m35-c\"><ol class=\"list-custom\">\n \t<li class=\"list-two\"><span class=\"strong\">Documentation of the Training<\/span><br \/>\n\n<ul class=\"no-bullet\" style=\"padding-left: 1.5rem;\">\n \t<li>Participant Agenda<\/li>\n \t<li>Presenter\u2019s Agenda (Sample provided in the Community of Practice). Includes<br \/>\n\n<ul style=\"padding-left: 1.5rem;\">\n \t<li>Main topics<\/li>\n \t<li>Key points to be made<\/li>\n \t<li>Handouts or materials used, and<\/li>\n \t<li>Timing and person responsible (if using a co-presenter)<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n \t<li>Sign-in Sheet or Roster<\/li>\n \t<li>Evaluation Summary<\/li>\n \t<li><em>If you co-train with another person from your team, please be sure to submit your documentation individually<\/em><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n \t<li class=\"list-three-a\"><span class=\"strong\">Documentation of the Consultation to a Classroom Team<\/span><br \/>\n\n<ul class=\"no-bullet\" style=\"padding-left: 1.5rem;\">\n \t<li>Summary of Consultation (form provided). Includes<br \/>\n\n<ul style=\"padding-left: 1.5rem;\">\n \t<li>Identification of issue or question or concern from classroom team (may include observation)<\/li>\n \t<li>Strategy from <span class=\"bt\">Beginning Together<\/span> materials that was selected to address the issue or concern<\/li>\n \t<li>How the strategy was shared with the team<\/li>\n \t<li>How the strategy worked or didn\u2019t work and next steps<\/li>\n \t<li>Signature of teacher or director<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n \t<li class=\"list-three-b\"><span class=\"strong\">Documentation of the Meeting Facilitation<\/span><br \/>\n\n<ul class=\"no-bullet\" style=\"padding-left: 1.5rem;\">\n \t<li>Participant Agenda<\/li>\n \t<li>Presenter\u2019s Agenda (Sample provided in the Community of Practice). All items must be submitted within 12 months of the completion of the Institute (for example, April 2023).
