CA Teaching Pyramid Partner Site
The Community Association for Preschool Education (CAPE) Inc. provides services to more than 200 children and families at eight different sites in eastern Alameda County–in the cities of Livermore, Pleasanton, and Dublin. CAPE provides comprehensive Head Start services to low-income families with children birth to age 5 and pregnant women, and children with special needs.
CAPE Head Start adopted the Teaching Pyramid in the 2013-14 program year and has trained all their preschool staff in the framework and strategies. They became a Teaching Pyramid Partner Site at the start of the 2014-15 program year. Their Leadership Team and program staff have worked to integrate the framework into their ongoing program operations. They have added Teaching Pyramid activities to their weekly lesson plan format, their Mental Health Services Director is an Authorized Trainer and Coach, and they include Teaching Pyramid refreshers in their professional development activities.
