CA Teaching Pyramid Partner Site

Catalyst Kids, Harrington

Catalyst Kids, Harrington is operated by Catalyst Family Inc., a nonprofit that provides responsive services to communities, children, and families, in various regions of California. In Ventura County, there are 16 Catalyst Kids centers that serve toddlers to school-aged children. Catalyst Kids staff implement a Positive Behavior Support Process that was based on the CA Teaching Pyramid framework to support children exhibiting challenging behaviors and other social-emotional needs.

Catalyst Kids, Harrington houses 1 preschool classroom serving 24 preschool children. They provide a part-day preschool program (California State Preschool Program) and an Expanded Learning Opportunity Program (ELO-P).

They began implementing the CA Teaching Pyramid in 2012, and became a Partner Site in 2013. They have seen that consistent leadership keeps the Teaching Pyramid alive. Staffing has changed so much, but the program leader’s commitment to implementing the CA Teaching Pyramid is still strong.
